The Highlanders of Tain are a icehockey franchise from Haugesund, Norway. The franchise was relocated from Sydney, Nova Scotia in season 153.

The Highlanders took over the EZMA licence of the Vermont Juveniles and played in the 4th Division of Northamerica. Now it starts in the Second Division of Scandinavia. Many players of the Juveniles and parts of the staff also moved to Nova Scotia after the change of ownership.

The new owner want to build a franchise which supports first and furemost the youth of his home country Scotland and Great Britain. In order to reflect this to the outside, the colours of the Highlanders of Tain were set to the Scottish blue and white. The third colour is the Canadian red, to show the connection to Nova Scotia. There is no longer any reference to the previous franchise. It is supposed to be a complete new beginning.

Owner Daniel Webster named his franchise in tribute to his hometown Tain at the Durnoch Firth in the Highlands of Scotland. Appropriately, there is a Tain Street in Sydney, where a suitable property for the arena was available. The arena created there is called St. Duthac Arena at Tain Street. St. Duthac is the city saint of Tain. Now in Haugesund the Highlanders plays in the Tain Viel Arena.
